International Vocational Education and Training (VET)
The Canton of Zug is home to many international companies. The fact that many of these are unaware of the Swiss dual-track vocational education and training (VET) system has a direct impact on the recruitment of skilled workers, as well as on the willingness of these companies to train new professionals. The Canton of Zug has therefore taken the initiative and set up this new program.
The International VET program aims to allow internationally oriented and multi-national companies whose company language is English to participate in vocational education and training in Switzerland. This dual-track VET program is open to both young people whose native language is German and who enjoy English (with the focus on fostering talent), and also to young people with other native languages and a very good command of German.
bildxzug is a partner of the International VET program in the area of vocational training in partner-companies, and offers apprenticeship positions in commerce and IT. The experts at bildxzug also advise international companies and supports them in their training of apprentices, either as part of the bildxzug network or as independent host companies.
Faszination Technik
Skilled labor is highly sought-after in many sectors today. This is true of math, IT, the natural sciences and technology (MINT) in particular.
The main goal of the «Faszination Technik» («Fascination with Technology») initiative is to stimulate an interest in MINT subjects among children and teenagers, girls in particular. The awareness-raising process should begin as early as possible during childhood development, and continue throughout children's education until, as young people, they are at the point of choosing a career path.
"Faszination Technik" has established a network in the economic region of Zug, which supports and develops suitable projects and offerings, fosters contact between schools and businesses, coordinates and bundles existing initiatives and makes knowledge available.
bildxzug has been operating and designing the «Faszination Technik» website since 2013. The bildxzug network and its many years of experience in the education and training sector facilitates collaboration between the various coordination partners involved.
