Commercial employees carry out a broad range of administrative activities within companies. Their tasks depend on both company size and economic branch.
Intermediate and advanced programmes (E-profile und M-profile)
Students enrolled in the intermediate VET1 programme develop extensive theoretical knowledge in the field of commerce. They understand business and customer-relevant processes as well as business contexts. Students in the advanced programme prepare for both the Federal VET Diploma2 as well as for the FVB3. VET graduates who obtain their FVB are entitled to enrol in a Swiss university of applied sciences.
Activities
Welcoming customers, managing calls, drafting correspondence in German, French and English, relocation, planning trips, scheduling appointments and organising events, handling purchasing and sales, drafting quotes, selling products and services, managing data warehouse or inventory management system, keeping records on file, handling financial and accounting aspects.
